Not travelling with my family again

So Connor and I went to Geraldton for him to do his band tribute and he had a great time. I stayed with Nan and Pop and hung out with some friends after the Battle of the Bands but mostly didn’t want anyone to know I was in town again.

If I was there for something I wanted to do, then of course I would’ve let my friends know that I’d be there, but its a bit exhausting considering we were only in town for a singular day and two nights, so I wasn’t going to plan anything with anyone.

Once we got back to Perth, mum and dad met us there and we were all trying to get to sleep early because we had to be up at 4am to get to the airport. Annoyingly, because we had to wake up early, naturally I just could not get to sleep.

Then, we started the trip by all yelling at each other 😀

(I would say from lack of sleep, but also thats just how it seems to happen when we travel)

It started with mum and Connor, then I joined, and then dad yelled at us to all stop it and we were all in an absolute foul mood by 5am. Brilliant!

Melbourne itself was fine for the most part, mums oldest sister, her husband (so my aunt and uncle) and their granddaughter came and stayed with us at the airbnb mum rented, as well as my mums dad, so my Pop.

Us four (parents, me and Connor) went up to Arthurs seat and took the cable car down the mountain before everyone got there. The views were of the whole peninsula essentially which was awesome despite my raging fear of heights.

Furthermore, once Jessie flew in on the Thursday, we did one of the treetop rope climbs at Enchanted Adventures… AGAIN despite my fear of heights. In all fairness, it wasn’t that bad once I’d been through a couple levels, I think at that point it was more the lack of balance and being so high up at the same time that was getting to me. The ziplines at the end of each level was definitely the most fun I had.

Friday was Luke’s graduation which was mostly a buttload of boring ass speeches about the namesake of their division. But all the graduating recruits did some marching through lines of other recruits and some wand waving with their guns. I clearly don’t know any of the technical names so none of this is accurate langauge.

After the ceremony we got to take Luke home!!! to see him properly for the first time in 10 weeks, which didn’t seem as long as I thought it would be considering this is the longest he’s been away from home his whole life.

Saturday I went to Dinosaur World with mum, Aunty Ro, Uncle Josh and their granddaughter Elle who’s my second cousin, who is 6 and also autistic.

So some background; dinosaurs were my very first special interest. To the point where I wanted to be a paleontologist marine biologist at the age of 4.

So this place was literally a dream come true since I was younger than Elle. All the photos mum took I’m literally smiling so wide it looks animated.

After that we went home, collected the rest of the crew, and spent the afternoon at the Ashcombe mazes and lavender gardens, which was so so pretty. (Even if I did get lost in the maze for a little bit there 🤫)

Sunday was our last day with Luke, he had to be back on base by 9pm, which sucked because he did spend most of the time with Jessie. It was really nice she could make it, but I barely got to talk to him really.

We spent Sunday driving around the bay before taking Luke back.

I don’t want to write a lot more about the trip because Connor and I were at ends the whole time… making mum and dad set off and so overall would not do the trip again.

Remind me next time to travel by myself. *this is also why I’ve been procrastinating writing this post because it lowkey makes me so mad thinking about everything.

Next one is much more cheerful and not procrastinated whatsoever.

See you then!
