I have turned 19! Hip hip hooray for me!!
To celebrate (which I believe I mentioned two posts back) I was throwing a small little party with cupcakes, karaoke, and cocktails.
I had invited Samantha, Gracie, Emelie, Beatrice, Kylie, Ruby, and Missy. Beatrice ended up super busy with uni exams, and in all honesty had been with me on my birthday for like the past 11 years. Kylie was working two jobs so couldn’t come down understandably. Missy said she had an event through the day that would probably run later than expected. Ruby said she would be there but last minute said something had come up with her family, which s totally cool except originally she said she wanted to be friends with me and now I haven’t seen her for 4 months, despite me messaging and asking to hang out… so that wigging me out a bit. The autism does NOT do well with complicated friendship dynamics.
So it ended up just Sami, Gracie (who both travelled from Geraldton – so 7 hours just to be here) and Emelie who came from Perth.
It was pretty quiet really. I’d made four dozen cupcakes for the party and still had like 40 left at the end of it. Everyone had left by like 9pm (Sami was staying the night). Dad tried to make bulk cocktails to put in those like water dispenser jugs, but I he messed up the recipes a little bit because I think they were giving me alcohol poisoning.
It was alright still I guess. Definitely not what I planned but thats ok, I knew it would be hard considering I barely have enough friends to qualify for it to be plural.
However,
The next week, my cousin Rosie flew over for my actual birthday from Sydney and I had the abso-fricking-lute best time ever.
So she flew in on the Thursday, had a night here at home, and Friday morning we caught the bus up to Perth and I showed her all around Fremantle and the markets. We went to Perth so we could actually go clubbing and boy did we club. Friday night, we left the hotel about 8pm for a bite and to start the night. 6 venues, 5 and a half alcoholic beverages, and about 4km walked later, we got back to the hotel at 3:30am…. 😱
I am still shook. I have never been out that late, but I think because it was Rosie I could stand to be with her for 7 and a half hours straight and not get pissed off or bored.
Ordinarily I’m in bed by 10pm these days, but Rosie goes out all the time with her friends in Sydney so I knew there was no backing down. Plus, at least I know where to go next year for a good night.
Saturday, mum picked us up and once we were home we went out again! There was a traffic light party in Bunbury and I wanted to scope it out if you know what I mean. To no avail though, all the guys my age, well the ones that weren’t getting touchy with girls clearly too drunk to make decisions, were all taken. SERIOUSLY why go to a traffic light party just to sit with your girlfriend all night smh
We were home much earlier Saturday night (11pm?) Which worked in our favour because once we were both up and dressed on Sunday we went out again!
Mum had booked us in at a brewery for a bottomless brunch. I said it wouldn’t be a brunch because it started at 12pm but nevermind.
We just kept being given jugs of drink, but it didn’t taste like alcohol, so not a cocktail, and I know it wasn’t a wine or beer but it definitely got us (read: me) drunk. Over the two hours, we received 4 jugs that got us about 2 glasses each. They also provided food of course, which was so so delectable, but still light enough that we could walk to the ice cream shop afterwards.
Well…. I thought we could have, but after having 8 drinks each I was rather tipsy on my feet. We barely made it to the ice cream shop but luckily mum was chauffeur and picked us up, because I literally felt barely intelligible.
Monday was my birthday! We slept in, went and got my free birthday churros from work because we finally reopened!!!! After nearly 3 months I was going back to work, but luckily not until Wednesday. We explored the shopping center for a little bit and then came home to chill out and read our books.
We had my birthday dinner and an early night again.
Tuesday, Rosie drove us to Busselton where we had lunch, walked the jetty, went to the movies, the beach, had dinner and watched a movie in our hotel room with some gourmet rocky road.
Wednesday we got up and had a quick breakfast before heading home so I could get ready for work. It was only a short shift so Rosie went home to read and then on the Thursday we drove her to the airport to go home.
I really had the best time ever going out with Rosie, I rarely ever get to dress up, and she even helped me with my makeup (because I don’t usually like the feel of it so I’ve never bothered to learn or buy any).
I had to curate four separate instagram posts for the week because we took so many photos and seemed to do so much. I probably needed to get out a bit to bring my spirits up before I went back to work.
So I recommend Mustangs Bar in Perth, and also having a cousin your age so you can experience things almost the same time.
I’ll whip up a quick post as well about the concerts I’ve been to and all the stress about uni coming up next year asap.
Thanks for sticking with 😛
